AAR/AMSER-Aquifer Medical Student Education GrantThe AAR/AMSER-Aquifer Medical Student Education Grant is offered in collaboration with the AAR Research and Education Foundation. The purpose is to advance the education of medical students in the field of diagnostic and interventional radiology, medical physics, or nuclear imaging, as well as furthering the academic scholarship of medical student educators. Some examples may include, but are not limited to, developing new curricula for medical students, creating innovative teaching techniques, or developing medical student educators in radiology. Application ProcessA call for applications will be made to the AAR/AMSER membership annually. The AMSER Awards committee working collaboratively with AMSER leadership, the AAR Research and Education Grant Committee Chair, and Aquifer Radiology Leads will determine successful grant applications that warrant funding. The grantee will be required to present their work at the AAR Annual meeting. The grantee will also provide AAR/AMSER with a progress report at the 6-month time point and a final report within 3 months of the end of funding. Application Deadline: Deadline for Letter of IntentLetters of intent will be submitted electronically as a PDF file by 12:00 pm Central Time on September 29, 2023. After review of the letters of intent, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal by October 30, 2023. Full ProposalThose invited to submit a full proposal should submit the following by January 24, 2024 at 12 noon CT: • Title • Objective • Body of Proposal should contain: Specific Aims Background/Significance Approach which includes methodology Outcome Measures Dissemination • Expected Impact for AMSER and for AAR • Budget (AAR staff time needs to be budgeted if applicable. Cost estimates for staff time must be obtained prior to submission.) • Process for Assessment of Impact Amount:Up to two grants, each for $10,000 (USD), will be awarded for the 2023‐2024 year. Funds may or may not be granted, depending on the quality of the received proposals. The maximum individual award may not exceed $10,000 for a one-year project.
The award can be renewed at no cost for a second year by request and upon approval of the AAR/AMSER Awards Committee. If additional funding is requested for the second year, a full application should be submitted, and such application will undergo a formal review process. Eligibility:
